half-truths, or just plain lies. You don't need to hope the
information the candidate has supplied you is true. You can find out
for sure.
Prescient Consulting's Pre-Employment Vetting and Background Check
Services include the following checks as for all job candidates and
background check subjects:
- Educational/Skill
Credentials Check. Candidate's educational credentials are
checked against claims made on resume or application. Credentials for
undergraduate and graduate degrees may be checked, as well as
attendance for a given term. Prescient will obtain actual degree
certification or transcript directly from issuing institution when
possible. Other skill certifications like TOEIC, and IT skill
certifications may also be verified.
- Employment
Record. Prescient will verify all claimed employment periods,
titles, and places of work. Prescient verifies where possible directly
through the organization in question's HR staff. - Performance Review. Prescient will seek to ascertain
other persons in places of employment who knew and directly worked with
the candidate. Through interviews with those persons, Prescient will
attempt to determine facts concerning candidate's prior job
performance, reputation, and diligence. The interviews are always
attempted through references the candidate did not supply,
enhancing the objectivity of any results obtained.
- Reference
Interviews. Prescient will directly interview by phone all references
supplied by candidate. Questions asked of references focus on
relationship, direct knowledge of work habits, ability, and skills, as
well as reputation, attitude, and aptitude for applied for position.
- Credit Checks and
Criminal Records. Prescient may also supply information on
personal credit histories and criminal records where this
information is available and attainable by law.
